Second critter blankie is done, and I like this one better - the stitches are a little looser so it has more give to it - may have to invest in a set of circular needles and try something bigger for me to keep. :)
Had all sorts of stuff going through my head earlier, but Elvis has left the building and all that good stuff, so, niters.

And another good day. I know myself well enough that I know that if I want to get anything done after work, it has to be done immediately upon arriving home. Once I sit down, it’s all over for the night.
So far this week, I have been exceptionally good about NOT sitting down when I get home. Walk in the door, feed the cats, strip down to my skivvies, workout, make dinner & lunch for the next day, and then I get to be a slacker. I’m quite proud of myself.
Drama in the office: Slacker princess quit. She was on vacation for a week and a half, was supposed to be back in the office today, no show. Finally the manager sent out an email saying she’d resigned effective Monday and that was why she wasn’t around… Unfortunately, I can’t say it’s really much of a loss to the team, but I do hope she finds something she likes out there.
Critter blankie #2 progressing nicely - I tossed it all into my backpack and keep the skeins in there and just pull the yarn out of the top when I’m working - has been good for keeping the cats in check.
That’s all I’ve got for the moment. I think it will be an early night cause I’ve been up too late the past few nights and it seems to be catching up with me…

I have to say, I am feeling exceptionally “together” at the moment. Past couple days have been really good, like having a big storm come through and leaving everything all clear afterwards. It’s a nice feeling.
Finished the first critter blankie - was supposed to be ~14″x14″, but came out 12″x14″ - you can still fit 4 kittens on it with room to spare, so it’ll work fine. :) Second one is started, this one is black & periwinkle blue - I already really like how it’s turning out.
Worked out again - starting very small, very slow this time - I’ve done the “overdo it/crash/burn” routine way too many times before, and I’d like for that to not happen this time around.
Niters all.

Well, today was a greatly improved day - seems to be going around. Gorgeous weather, very little traffic on the way into the office, and a nice quiet day in general. Which made me hyper as hell by the end of the day, LOL.
Picked up some yarn on the way home, did a very small workout (for which my stomach muscles are already not happy with me), made myself a turkey sammich for dinner with a big ol’ glass of milk.
And I’m now almost 1/2 of the way through the first blankie for the animal shelter. Yes, just another step closer to “crazy old biddy.”

I don’t remember falling down a flight of stairs yesterday, so why do I feel like it today??
Yesterday was the semi-annual Potomac Watershed Clean Up. Grab a trash bag and walk through the mud for three hours. Well, if nothing else, I’ve gotten my good deed done for the next 6 months. :) (And I suspect all the mucking about is probably why I am so achy this morning.)
Edit: Oh, and got to be on the radio when they came out to cover the cleanup! Unfortunately, I managed to miss the ONE time they aired it. Damn.
Other than that, I’m not ready to go back to work tomorrow. I think I need more than just a three day weekend.

And have a wonderful weekend everyone!
If you’re in NOVA and looking for a good workout for a good cause, come on out to Theodore Roosevelt Island tomorrow from 9 to noon and help with some post-Isabel cleanup. :)
