That pretty much sums it up for me. You’re criticizing an “award-winning” force there, salty burgers and all. ;) Call me Mr. Negative, but I’m wondering if the color of anyone had something to do with the charges. Of course, I could be wrong, and the nice policeman choked down the burger and was hoping for a free one. Oh, wait, that would make me only partially wrong.

Heck, even if all he wanted was a free burger out of it, he could have easily gotten that.
I’m hoping that someone with some semblance of common sense steps into the situation soon - this is already a nice waste of the city’s money. Part of me is just waiting for the announcement that there is some sort of lawsuit against the city over this.

Given the modern police officers’ penchant for arrest over common sense, I don’t find it in the least unusual that he charged into the burger joint and tagged someone for his stupidity. My hope is that a lawyer will do some pro bono and help the poor girl, but in a small town, local lawyers are often fearful of rocking the boat.
One would think that the town council would come to its senses eventually and force the department to stop harassing citizens who earn a minimum wage in a burger joint.
I wonder if there’s more to this than meets the eye. Perhaps the officer in question has a history at that place, and the staff was trying to get even.
