As you’ve probably heard by now, there was a mass shooting down at Virginia Tech this morning.
Last report had 30 deaths, including the shooter, one in the dorms, and the rest in Norris Hall. The local news outlets are scrambling to get additional information on what actually happened and why, and of course, speculation is running rampant.
An incredibly sad day for that campus.
ETA: The Associated Press is now confirming 31 deaths.

Not that it’s much consolation, but 21 plus the shooter is the highest count I’ve heard on any of the news sources.

CBS is the one reporting at least 30. My brother’s best friend works in the counseling center down there - I keep telling myself that there was no reason for him to be in the engineering building, but I’ll feel better when I know he’s OK.

I have one friend I just learned is still there, but I have no way to check on her–haven’t talked in a couple years.

One of my best friends is studying engineering there and if I don’t get a response soon, I am going to absolutely lose my mind. I am close enough as it is with all this worrying.

**hugs** They’re saying it’s still very difficult to get through on cell phones down there, the towers are just overloaded. Definitely hope you hear good news soon.
