I remember seeing a documentary years ago about the stock market… about how 1 point equals something like 400 million dollars of value… where does the money go when it loses points ? I’ve always wondered…

Yeah, I can’t remember what a point on the Dow represents these days.
The money isn’t really anywhere until a trade takes place. So, the market can go up or down and you don’t really have anything until you sell. (You kinda made my brain hurt thinking on that one.)
